NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FL

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF NAVAL STATION MAYPORT

Naval Station Mayport has grown to be one of the most developed naval bases since its establishment in 1942. As the third-largest fleet concentration area in the United States, Naval Station Mayport is a major Surface and Air Warfare Organization. Its primary mission is to sustain and enhance warfighter readiness, and it is home to the Navy's 4th Fleet, which was reactivated in 2008.

Naval Station Mayport is dedicated to offering the "Finest Service to the Finest Fleet." The naval station has seen significant growth and development since its inception, and today, it conducts both air operations and port operations. Its airfield accommodates more than 100,000 helicopter and fixed-wing flights every year. Both the airfield and the seaport serve to support mission readiness and continue to accommodate more ships, Sailors and their families, and base facilities.
